My entry for the 2016 Battle of the BeadSmith was a small tech bag embellished with beaded floral components. It was not what I had originally planned on making, but after using the bag to transport my work in progress for a few weeks the idea took shape.
It was a fun project to make that turned out to be very useful. It is the perfect size to hold my iPad, phone and a few other items.
The centers of the large flowers are lightweight sparkly resin. Most of the seed beads are Miyuki brand. The metal components are from Kabela Design. This company's line of metal charms and findings are now available from one of my local bead stores, Studio 36 in Pottstown, Pa.
The strap was stitched using herringbone weave in three separate pieces which were then braided together. I used large toggle clasp loops to attach the strap to the bag.
The small caterpillar was made using crescent beads.
