Sunflower - Finalist
In the year 2013 I competed in the first contest I had entered in many years. I made a necklace with a large focal flower using a piece of black nephrite jade for the center. I surrounded the cabochon with a netting of beads and then added the petals.
I used rounded edge triangle beads to make the leaves. The periwinkle flowers are made using 15/0 beads.
The chain is a tubular peyote that is five beads to each row. Using an odd number of beads will encourage a spiral pattern to form as you create the beadwork.
